Funeral Potatoes are easy to make, and they taste great. These can be put together very easily you will need frozen hash browns, sour cream, cheese, butter, and corn flakes. These can be made ahead, and heated when ready to serve.
Hash brown potato mix | 1 Packet | |
Butter | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , microwaved | |
Sour cream | 16 Ounce | |
Cream of chicken soup | 16 Ounce | |
Sweet onion | 1 Large , chopped | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Pepper | To Taste | |
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese | 16 Ounce | |
Non stick cooking spray | 1 | |
For topping | ||
Melted butter | 2 Tablespoon (as needed) | |
Cornflakes | 2 Cup (32 tbs) , crushed |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking oil spray and set aside.
MAKING
3. In a large bowl, combine the hash brown potatoes with melted butter, sour cream, cream of chicken soup mix, and onion. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
4. Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread evenly and sprinkle cheese on top.
5. In a small bowl, combine cornflakes with melted butter and spread it over the potato cheese mixture.
6. Cover the dish with foil and pop in oven and bake for 60 minutes or until the topping becomes golden brown.
7. Remove from oven and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
