Elbow macaroni | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Low fat shredded cheddar cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Fresh lemon juice | 1 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY
1. Cut the low sodium, extra lean beef frankfurters into bite sized pieces.
2. Cook macaroni; drain and set aside.
PREPARATION
3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
4. Stir fry the minced garlic and onion till raw taste disappears.
5. Add the cubed sausages; cook, stirring frequently, until brown, in about 5 minutes.
6. Next add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, corn, mixed herbs and salt; bring to a boil.
7. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
8. Turn off flame and add the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
SERVING
9. Pour the sauce over the cooked macaroni; sprinkle grated cheese on top and serve hot.
