American Pot Roast

Start off the holiday season off with a delicious pot roast! This week Rebecca gives you her recipe for this classic American dish. Nothing fills the house with the festive smells of the holiday like a mouth watering pot roast. We hope it will make your holiday season, simply good.


Chuck roast 4 Pound
Onion 1 Large , chopped
Garlic 2 Medium
Carrot 1 Large , chopped
Celery stalks 1
Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
Sugar 2 Teaspoon
Thyme 1 Teaspoon
Chicken broth 1 Can (10 oz) (1 Can)
Beef broth 1 Can (10 oz)
Potatoes 2 Pound , peeled and chopped
Carrots 2 Pound , peeled and chopped
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste



1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.


2. Season roast with salt and pepper on both sides.

3. To a very hot pot add oil, and sear roast on all sides.

4. Once seared remove roast from pot and set aside.

5. Add onion, garlic, carrot, celery, sugar, thyme, chicken broth and beef broth to the pot, stir to combine.

6. Place roast back in pot, cover and cook in the preheated oven for 3.5 hours.

7. Add potatoes and carrots to pot and cook for 1 hour.


8. Serve with rice or bread
