Ingredients

Rye flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Yellow cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
White flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Baking soda 2 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Molasses 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Thick sour milk/Buttermilk 2 Cup (32 tbs)

Directions

MAKING

1. In a bowl mix dry ingredients.

2. Add molasses and milk and stir without beating.

3. Fill 1 1/2 qt mold 2/3 full.

4. Seal tightly with a tight-fitting lid or aluminum foil.

5. In a tightly covered kettle keep small amount of boiling water and steam for 3 to 3 1/2 hours on rack.

SERVING

6. Serve hot.
