Poached Ruby Pears

Cranberry juice cocktail 2 cups
Strawberry Preserves 1 cup
Cinnamon sticks 2 (each 4 inches long)
Whole cloves 12
Large Bartlett pears 6, peeled, with stems on, sliced from bottom to stand stable



1. In a saucepan, add cranberry juice, strawberry preserves, cinnamon, cloves and bring to a boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes.

2. Add the pears, into the boiling liquid, cover and simmer until pears are tender. Remove from heat and remove pears from syrup and chill.


3. Serve the pears with or without syrup.
