Ingredients

Pork 1 Pound , ground
Canned bean sprouts 16 Ounce , drained for 1 cup (1 can)
Bias cut celery 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Onion 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , coarsely chopped
Canned water chestnuts 5 Ounce , drained and sliced (1 can)
Canned mushrooms 3 Ounce , sliced, drained for 1/2 cup (1 can)
Canned condensed beef broth 10 1/2 Ounce (1 can)
Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
Hot cooked rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Almonds 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , toasted slivered

Directions

MAKING

1. In skillet cook pork till lightly browned and drain off excess fat.

2. Add bean sprouts, celery, onion, water chestnuts and mushrooms and stir in all but 1/4 cup of the broth.

3. Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer with cover for 1 5 minutes.

4. In a bowl blend cornstarch, soy sauce and reserved beef broth and stir into meat-vegetable mixture.

5. Cook stirring till thickened and bubbly.

SERVING

6. Serve over rice, sprinkle over with almonds.

7. Pass additional soy sauce, if desired.
