Hawaiian Turkey Burgers

Beaten egg 1
Seasoned fine dry bread crumbs 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Chopped water chestnuts 3 Tablespoon
Ground ginger 3/4 Teaspoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Pepper 1/4 Teaspoon
Ground turkey/Chicken 1 Pound , uncooked
Bottled sweet and sour sauce 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Canned pineapple rings 4
Shredded spinach 1 Tablespoon
Kaiser rolls 4 , split and toasted


In a medium bowl combine egg, bread crumbs, water chestnuts, ginger, salt, and pepper.

Add ground turkey or chicken; mix well.

Form into four 3/4-inch-thick patties.

Place patties on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals.

Grill for 14 to 18 minutes or until done (165°), turning once and brushing with sweet-and-sour sauce the last 5 minutes of grilling.

Meanwhile, place pineapple slices on grill rack.

Grill for 5 minutes, turning occasionally.

To serve, place shredded spinach on the bottoms of rolls or buns.

Top with burgers.

Brush the burgers with sweet-and-sour sauce and top with pineapple slices.

Replace roll or bun tops.
