Learn how to make buttermilk biscuits! Making biscuits from scratch is easy with my neat trick! Once you've had these buttery southern style biscuits, you'll want to make them every day!

Ingredients

Flour 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Butter 5 Tablespoon (frozen or at least very cold)
Buttermilk 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY:

1.Preheat oven to 450F.

MAKING:

2.Combine dry ingredients in a big ol bowl.

3.If your butter is frozen, use a coarse grater to grate it into the flour. If its just cold, dice it and toss it around in the flour.

4.Use your fingertips to mix the flour with the butter, sort of squeezing little bits to break up the butter and get it coated in flour. It should look grainy.

5.Add the milk all at once and mix it up quickly.

6.Turn it onto a floured board and knead by folding it over itself several times. Thirty seconds of kneading is plenty. Be gentle with it.

7.Roll or pat it out into 1/2 inch thickness.

8.Cut with a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.

9.Put on a cookie sheet, ungreased. Bake at 450 degrees Fahreheit for 12-15 minutes.

SERVING:

10.Eat those hot flaky biscuits and think about my cool granny.
