Betty's Beer and Flax Seed Bread

Betty demonstrates how to make Beer and Flax Seed Bread. This is a flavorful bread that is good with just butter or with a sweet or savory spread. It can also be used as sandwich bread.

Ingredients

Self rising flour
Beer 12 Ounce
Firmly packed light brown sugar 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Baking powder 1/2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Flax seeds 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Oil spray 2 Dash

Directions

Making

In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix together. 

Slowly pour in beer and mix well. 

Add flax seeds and mix until combines. 

Pour dough into loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking oil spray. 

Bake at 375 degrees (F) for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick or cake tester comes out clean and bread is lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes on baking rack before removing from pan and slicing. 

Serving

Serve immediately, or let cool to room temperature and cover with plastic wrap or place in closed container.
