Betty demonstrates how to make Peanut Butter Cereal Squares. This is a snack made of Cheerios or Kix cereal coated with a peanut butter candy sauce.
|Pie filling mix||3 1/2 Ounce (1 small package of vanilla, butterscotch, or chocolate pudding and pie filling mix)|
|Light corn syrup||1/2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Peanut butter||1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (use creamy or chunky)|
|Cheerios||4 Cup (64 tbs) (or Kix cereal)|
In a large saucepan, heat dry pudding mix and corn syrup to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Boil and stir constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Stir in peanut butter. Add 3 to 4 cups cereal and stir immediately to coat.
Spoon mixture into a greased 8-inch by 8-inch by 2-inch Pyrex baking dish, quickly patting down with back of a greased spoon.
Cool until firm. Cut into squares.
Transfer to a nice serving dish and serve.
