Betty demonstrates how to make Peach Batter Cobbler. This is a quick and easy cobbler to make with peaches or any fruit. As it bakes, the batter envelopes the fruit!

Ingredients

Dark brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs) , divided, firmly packed
Sliced fresh peaches 2 Cup (32 tbs) (peeled, pitted, sliced)
Butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , sliced
Self rising flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

MAKING

2. In a medium-sized bowl, add¼ cup dark brown sugar and sliced peaches. Mix well and set aside.

3. Into an 8-inch by 11-inch or 9-inch by 12-inch baking dish, place butter slices and pop in oven and let melt.

4. In a large bowl, combine self rising flour and remaining ¾ cup of brown sugar. Mix well. Pour milk and mix until well combined.

5. When butter is melted, remove the hot, buttery baking dish from the oven and pour the whisked batter over the top of the melted butter.

6. Sprinkle sugared peaches over the top of the batter.

7. Pop the baking dish in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the batter has risen around the peaches, the top is light brown, and the sides are darker brown.

SERVING

8. Serve hot with ice cream and enjoy!

TIPS

Instead of self rising flour you can use all purpose flour but just add1 ½ teaspoon baking powder and ½ teaspoon of salt to it.
