Cajun Crawfish Po' Boy

A delicious and easy to make Cajun Crawfish Po' Boy, that will have you going back for seconds and thirds!! Perfect for game day, parties, tailgating, events, and in our case, dinner :)


Ingredients

For remoulade sauce
Mayonnaise 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs)
Creole mustard 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Pickle juice 1 Teaspoon
Cajun rub 1 Teaspoon (Tango Spice)
Paprika 1 Teaspoon
Cracked black pepper To Taste
Prepared horseradish 1 Teaspoon
Fresh garlic 1 Clove (5 gm) , minced
For cajun popcorn
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Buttermilk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cajun rub 3 Tablespoon (Tango Joe, Divided)
Crawfish tails 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Self rising flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Kosher salt To Taste
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)
Other ingredients
French bread 18 Inch , cut lengthwise into eighths
Shredded lettuce 6 Ounce
Tomato slices 12
Kosher salt To Taste
Cracked black pepper To Taste

Directions

GETTING READY

1. To make remoulade sauce, mix together mayonnaise, creole mustard, pickle juice, cajun rub, paprika, cracked black pepper, prepared horseradish and garlic together to make remoulade sauce. Place it in the refrigerator until required.

 

MAKING

2. Take milk and buttermilk in a bowl. Season it with 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning. Drop in the crawfish tails and mix it all together.

3. In separate bowl, take self rising flour and mix it with kosher salt. Add 1/4 cup of cajun seasoning and mix it all together to make a flour mixture for coating the shrimps.

4. Heat oil in a pan. Coat the crawfish tails in the flour mixture and deep fry them in hot oil.

5. Strain the crawfish cajun popcorns and set them aside.

6. Spread remoulade sauce on one half of the french bread. Sprinkle shredded lettuce, tomato slices all over. Season with salt and pepper.

7. Arrange cajun popcorns over the tomato slices. Cover with the other french bread half to make the po boy.

 

SERVING

8. Cut it into finger size sandwiches for a games party or cut it into two for a meal for two. Enjoy!
