Ingredients

For lam filling:
Oil 2 Tablespoon
Carrots 2 , dice
Onions 2 , dice
Garlic 6 , crush
Celery stalks 2 , dice
Peas 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Minced lamb 1 Kilogram
Lamb bones 200 Gram (for stock)
Tomato paste 1 Tablespoon
Cayenne pepper To Taste
Dry rosemary 1 Teaspoon
Flour 2 Tablespoon
Butter 4 Tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
For mashed potatoes:
Water 1 Liter
Potatoes 6 , dice
Heavy cream 200 Milliliter
Butter 4 Tablespoon
Egg yolks 2
Grated cheddar cheese 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Crushed black pepper To Taste
Salt To Taste (plus extra for greasing the baking dish)

Directions

FOR LAMB FILLING:

MAKING:

1.In a sauce pan, add lamb bones and water and boil it to get the lamb stock.

2.Keep a pan on medium flame, pour some oil, add the carrots and once half cooked add onions and cook them properly.

3. Add crush garlic, celery and peas and let it cook.

4.Add minced lamb, once the lamb is cooked well, add tomato paste, cayenne pepper, dry rosemary mix it all together.

5.Add lamb stock, flour, butter, add dd Worcestershire sauce, salt and crushed black pepper.

6.And the lamb filling is done.

FOR MASHED POTATOES:

MAKING:

1.In a pot of cold water add diced potatoes and boil the water by covering it with a lid.

2.Once the potatoes are boiled, drain off the water and keep the potatoes on low flame.

3.Mash the potatoes with masher. To the mashed potatoes add heavy cream to it and mix well.

4.Add butter, egg yolks, and again mix well.

5.For lump free mashed potatoes, pass the mixture through the sieve.

6.Once you get the lump free mashed potatoes add salt, crushed black pepper and cheddar cheese.

FOR THE SHEPHERD PIE:

GETTING READY:

1.Preheat your oven to 200 c.

MAKING:

2.Apply butter to a glass casserole.

3. Place the lamb filling as the base and level it.

4.Over the lamb filling place the layer of mashed potatoes and place some grated cheese on the top.

5.Keep it in the oven at 200C for 20 minutes.

6.Let the pie cool down.

SERVING:

7.Take a bite and enjoy the Shepherd's Pie.
