Ingredients

Split green gram dal with skin 1 Cup (16 tbs) , boil
Chana dal 2 Tablespoon , boil
For dal tempering:
Ghee 2 Tablespoon
Cumin 1 Tablespoon
Asafoetida 1/2 Teaspoon
Chopped garlic 2 Tablespoon
Chopped onions 4 Tablespoon
Green chilli 1 , chop
Chopped tomato 4 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Red chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
Chopped coriander leaves 2 Tablespoon
For baati:
Wheat flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Ghee 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Water 4 Tablespoon
For churma:
Ghee 1 Tablespoon
Chopped almonds 2 Tablespoon
Cardamom powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Powdered sugar 2 Tablespoon

Directions

FOR DAL:

MAKING:

1.Heat a wok, add ghee and once the ghee heats add garlic, asafoetida. Saute them for few seconds.

2.Add onions, and saute till the raw smell goes away.

3.Add green chili, red chili powder, turmeric powder. Give them a mix.

4.Add tomatoes, boiled dals and give them a mix.

5. Add some chopped coriander and salt.

6.Give it a stir and your Dal is ready.

FOR BAATI:

MAKING:

1. In a bowl of wheat flour, add ghee and salt.

2.Mix them nicely till the texture of the flour resembles bread-crumbs.

3.Add little water and knead it into a dough.

4.Once the dough is ready divide it into portions.

5.Make a cross sign on the dough ball and next step is to bring it together. Tip: Do not press it too hard or leave it loose.

6.Bake the baatis on a gas burner, keep flipping them and ensure that they don't burn.

FOR CHURMA:

MAKING:

1.Crush few baatis and transfer them in a grinder jar.

2.Crush it into a coarse powder.

3.Heat a pan, add ghee, cardamom pods, chopped almonds.

4.Saute them till its nice and fragrant.

5.Ensure that they do not change color.

6.After few seconds and in the crushed baatis.

7.Saute them on a medium flame for 5 minutes and transfer it into a bowl. Allow the mixture to cool down and then add powdered sugar. Mix them well.

SERVING:

8.Our Dal Baati Churma is ready.
