Hands down this is one of my favorite recipes for coleslaw. This vinegar-based coleslaw is super easy to prepare and it tastes great, best of all it stays fresh for weeks.
Shredded cabbage | 2 Pound | |
Chopped red pepper/Chopped green pepper | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Chopped onions | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Sugar | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
For cole slaw dressing: | ||
White vinegar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Salad oil | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
Celery seeds | 1 Teaspoon |
MAKING:
1.Shred or chop cabbage, onions, and peppers. Sprinkle sugar on top. Combine dressing ingredient and bring to boil Toss dressing with cabbage mixture.
SERVING:
2.Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. Slaw will keep for weeks without losing its freshness.
