Learn how to make authentic Bhaja Muger Dal popularly known as Bengali Moong Dal at home from our Chef Smita only on Rajshri Food.

Bhaja Muger Dal is a Typical Bengali delicacy prepared almost in every Bengali Households.


Moong dal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
Ginger paste 1 Teaspoon
Chopped coconut 2 Tablespoon (fresh)
Turmeric powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Chilli powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Ghee 2 Tablespoon
Cumin powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Green chillies 4
Fresh green peas 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Mustard oil 3 Tablespoon
Sugar To Taste
Salt To Taste



1.Wash the dal and let it dry.

2.Dry roast the dal in a pan till golden brown.

3.Add 2 cups of water and cook till done.

4.Heat mustard oil add the cumin seeds, ginger paste, chilli and turmeric powder

5.Add the dal and cook and green peas and the chillies. Cover and cook.


6.Fry the coconut and add to the dal and serve.
