Tomato sheer is a mild curry made with coconut milk and tomatoes, as the name suggests. Simple and quick to make it is delicious with rice but hot phulkas go well with it too. Add a side dish of potatoes and you have an amazing comfort meal ready.
Onion | 1 Large , finely chopped | |
Tomatoes | 2 Large (cut into 1” cubes) | |
Turmeric powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Green chillies | 5 , slitted (spicy) | |
Chilli powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Asafoetida | 1 Pinch | |
Coconut milk | 1 Liter | |
Gram flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Water | 1/2 Liter |
MAKING:
1.In a vessel add the onions, green chillies, turmeric powder and ½ liter of water and boil for 5 minutes.
2.Add the tomatoes and the coconut milk and on a low flame stir the curry .
3.Add the salt, sugar and the gram flour and stir continuously till the curry turns slightly thick
SERVING:
4.Serve this hot with steamed rice and kaap.
