Coriander seeds | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Dry red chillies | 18 | |
Fenugreek seeds | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Peppercorns | 1 Tablespoon | |
Split black gram | 2 Tablespoon | |
Curry leaves | 10 | |
Turmeric powder | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Split bengal gram | 2 Tablespoon | |
Pigeon peas | 2 Tablespoon | |
Mustard seeds | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Asafoetida | 1/2 Tablespoon |
MAKING:
1.Roast the coriander seeds.
2.Roast dry red chillies for two minutes.
3.Roast fenugreek seeds for a minute or two.
4.Roast pepper corns for a minute or two.
5.Roast split black gram.
6.Roast curry leaves till they are nice and crisp.
7.Roast the Bengal gram for two minutes.
8.Roast the pigeon peas for two minutes.
9.Add mustard seeds and let them pop.
10.Place all the ingredients in a bowl and let them cool.
11.Add turmeric powder and asafoetida and mix well.
12.Grind everything to a fine powder.
SERVING:
13.Sambhar Powder is ready for use.
