This super simple 'Lasooni Moong Dal' recipe is for all the kitchen virgins out there.


Whole green moong dal 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Chopped tomatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Red chilli powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Curry leaves 15
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Finely chopped coriander leaves 1 Tablespoon
Garlic 18 Clove (90 gm) (15 cloves are for boiling with dal and 3 cloves finely chopped is for tadka)
Water 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Oil 1 Tablespoon
Dry red chilli 1
Green chilli 1 , finely chopped
Steamed rice 4 Cup (64 tbs) (for serving)
Ghee 4 Teaspoon (optional)



1.Take a Cooker, add soaked Moong, tomatoes n salt. Cook the moong.

2.Once done, transfer it to the bowl.

3.Now take a pan, add oil, cumin seeds, green chillies,Curry leaves, Garlic n other masalas.

4.Now add the boiled Moong Dal in the tadka. Boil it for sometime.


5.Serve hot with hot steaming rice. Add ghee on the rice (Optional)
