Oranges In Red Wine
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Dry red wine||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Mix sugar, red wine, and water in saucepan.
Tie whole cloves, cinnamon, and 2 lemon slices in a small piece of cheesecloth.
Put in saucepan.
Bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes, or until syrupy.
Remove spice bag.
Remove rind from oranges; reserve.
Add segments to syrup.
Serve with garnish of slivered orange rind.
