Classic Mulled Wine
|Madeira/Sherry /tokay||1 Quart|
|Grated nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Brandy||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
In top part of double boiler over direct heat, bring wine and nutmeg almost to the boiling point.
Beat eggs until light and stir in brandy.
Pour heated wine onto egg mixture.
Add sugar to taste.
Put back in double boiler and cook over hot water for 2 minutes, beating constantly with rotary beater.
Serve hot in small cups.
