Dissolve 6 oz. sugar in 8 oz. red wine and 8 oz. water.
Bring to a boil.
Add 1 stick cinnamon, 2 cloves, 3 slices of lemon and 3 slices of tangerine.
Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes until of a syrupy consistency.
Remove the spices and slices of lemon and tangerine.
Peel with a sharp knife 6 large oranges, cutting well into the fruit so that you slice off every bit of white membrane.
Peel the membranes from each segment.
Put the segments in a serving bowl.
Pour over the hot wine syrup.
Cool and put in refrigerator until next evening.
