Fruit Poached In Wine

Ingredients
  Red wine/White wine 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Fresh lemon 1⁄2 , peel sliced
  Lemon juice 2 Tablespoon
  Cinnamon stick 1
  Fresh fruit 4 , peeled and cored (pears, peaches or nectarines)
Directions

1. Place wine, sugar, lemon peel, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
2. Add fruit and simmer until tender, basting occasionally with juice. Do not allow liquid to boil.
3. Let stand in juice about 20 minutes before serving.
