Fruit Poached In Wine
|Red wine/White wine||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Fresh lemon||1⁄2 , peel sliced|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Fresh fruit||4 , peeled and cored (pears, peaches or nectarines)|
1. Place wine, sugar, lemon peel, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
2. Add fruit and simmer until tender, basting occasionally with juice. Do not allow liquid to boil.
3. Let stand in juice about 20 minutes before serving.
