Wine Baked Plums
|Sweet plums||8 Medium, cut into halves and pitted (Red Variety)|
|Dry red wine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1 Tablespoon|
|Cinnamon sticks||2 , broken into halves|
|Thawed frozen dairy whipped topping||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In 1 1/2-quart casserole arrange plums in a single layer, cut-side down.
In 1-cup glass measure combine wine and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved; pour over fruit and add cinnamon sticks to casserole.
Cover casserole and bake until plums are soft, about 30 minutes.
Remove and discard cinnamon sticks; peel plums and discard skin.
Into each of 4 dessert dishes place 4 plum halves; spoon 1/4 of the cooking liquid over each portion and top each with 1 tablespoon whipped topping.
