Strawberry Blueberry Compote In Red Wine Syrup

Ingredients
  Dry red wine 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Whole black peppercorns 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Orange rind strips 2 (2 1/2 Inches Long)
  Cinnamon stick 1
  Bay leaf 1
  Sliced fresh strawberries 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Fresh blueberries 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Combine the first 6 ingredients in a small non-aluminum saucepan, bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup.
Drain wine mixture in a colander over a large bowl, discard solids.
Add berries, toss to coat.
