Strawberry Blueberry Compote In Red Wine Syrup
|Dry red wine||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Whole black peppercorns||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Orange rind strips||2 (2 1/2 Inches Long)|
|Sliced fresh strawberries||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Fresh blueberries||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Combine the first 6 ingredients in a small non-aluminum saucepan, bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup.
Drain wine mixture in a colander over a large bowl, discard solids.
Add berries, toss to coat.
