Broken Wheat Upma
|Broken wheat||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (dalia)|
|Chopped onions||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Green chili||1 , chopped|
|Green peas||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Diced carrots||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Mustard seeds||1⁄4 Teaspoon (rai)|
|Ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon, grated|
|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Chopped coriander||2 Tablespoon (for garnish)|
1 Clean and wash the broken wheat thoroughly.
2 Drain well and keep aside.
3 In a microwave safe bowl, combine the oil and mustard seeds.
4 Microwave covered for 1 minute.
5 Add in the onions, green chili and ginger.
6 Microwave uncovered for 2 minutes.
7 Add in the green peas, carrots, broken wheat and salt and mix well.
8 Microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring once in between.
9 Add 1 1/2 cups of water, cover and microwave on high for 6 minutes, stirring once in between after 3 minutes.
10 Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
