David Harman's Buckwheat Cakes

  Plain flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Buckwheat flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk 4 Tablespoon
  Cake yeast 1 , dissolved in water, to cover
  Soda 1 Pinch, dissolved in 1/4 cup water

Make a batter of first three ingredients with enough buttermilk to mix, not too thick.
Pour dissolved yeast cake into batter.
Let rise overnight.
In the morning punch down like everything
Stir in the soda mixed with water, stir hard.
Pour onto hot greased griddle.
