Cracked Wheat With Filberts

Ingredients
  Chopped onion 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Milliliter)
  Filberts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sliced (125 Milliliter)
  Butter/Chicken fat 45 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)
  Cracked wheat 1 Cup (16 tbs) (250 Milliliter)
  Nutmeg/Thyme 1 Pinch
  Chicken broth 750 Milliliter (3 Cup)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Saute onion and filberts in hot butter until onion is tender and filberts golden.
Stir in the cracked wheat, thyme, nutmeg and chicken broth.
Bring to a boil and cover.
Simmer until wheat is tender, about 30 to 35 minutes or pour into a closely covered casserole and bake at 350F (180C) for 40 minutes.
Stir once or twice.
Taste and season with salt and freshly ground pepper.
