|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Boiling water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Molasses||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cake flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Walnuts||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), finely chopped|
Cream shortening and brown sugar.
Add boiling water to molasses.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with molasses and water to creamed mixture.
Chill and roll.
Cut into strips 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.
Sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake at 350Â° F.
Makes 78 strips.
