Walnut Dreams

Ingredients
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened (1 Stick)
  Confectioners sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), unsifted
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Ground nutmeg 1 Pinch
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Finely chopped walnuts 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 300°F. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla, flour, nutmeg, salt, and walnuts.
2. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Place the balls about 1 inch apart on a lightly greased baking sheet, pressing each ball with the heel of your hand to a thickness of about 1/2 inch.
3. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
