Ginger Dessert Waffles
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Pure vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Orange peel||1 Teaspoon|
|All-purpose flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Buttermilk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
1 In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2 Add in eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
3 Stir in the vanilla and orange peel.
4 In a bowl, sift flour, measure and sift again with ginger, cinnamon, salt and soda.
5 Blend flour and buttermilk alternately in the butter mixture.
6 Bake in waffle iron.
7 Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or syrup.
