Sift first 5 ingredients together into a large mixing bowl.
Stir in the well-beaten egg yolks, margarine, milk, and vanilla.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into flour mixture.
Fill the hot waffle iron with batter and close; bake until browned.
