Basic Waffles

  Eggs 2
  Sugar 3⁄4 Tablespoon (1 Dessertspoon)
  Milk 7 1⁄2 Fluid Ounce (1 1/2 Gills)
  Water 1⁄4 Pint
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Self raising flour 1⁄2 Pound (All Purpose)
  Cornflour 2 Tablespoon
  Butter 4 Ounce

Separate eggs.
Beat egg-yolks and sugar together, add milk, water and vanilla; beat again.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Pour in melted butter; beat well.
Finally fold in stiffly beaten egg-whites.
Allow batter to stand 10 minutes.
Spoon into hot, greased waffle iron, cook approximately 5 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
