Wheat Germ Waffles

Ingredients
  Apple 1 Medium, peeled, cored and cut into 1/8 inch slices
  Lemon juice 4 Teaspoon
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Toasted wheat germ 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Quick cooking rolled oats 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 Large
  Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salad oil/Melted butter / margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
  Maple syrup/Powdered sugar 4 Tablespoon (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
Directions

Mix apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon; set aside.
Mix flour, wheat germ, oats, baking powder, and soda.
In a large bowl, beat egg, milk, and oil to blend; add dry ingredients, stirring until evenly moistened.
Gently stir in apple mixture.
To an oiled waffle iron heated to medium-high, add 1 cup batter; push apple slices so they don't overlap.
Cover and bake until waffle is crisp and golden; lift out.
Repeat to bake remaining waffles.
