Whole Grain Waffles
|Whole wheat flour||160 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)|
|Brown rice flour||160 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)|
|Soy flour||160 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon (5 Milliliters)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon (5 Milliliters)|
|Salt||1⁄2 Teaspoon (3 Milliliters)|
|Wheat germ||30 Milliliter (2 Tablespoons)|
|Skim milk||355 Milliliter (1 1/2 Cup)|
|Plain non-fat yogurt||240 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
|Butter||45 Milliliter, melted (3 Tablespoons)|
|Eggs||3 , separated|
Whisk together the flours, soda, baking powder, salt and wheat germ in a large bowl.
In a smaller bowl, mix together the milk, yogurt, cooled butter, and egg yolks.
Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until everything is thoroughly blended.
In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Fold the egg whites into the batter.
Cook on a hot, oiled waffle iron.
