Basic Waffle Recipe
|Sifted flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Eggs||2 , separated|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Melted shortening||6 Tablespoon|
1. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
2. Beat egg yolks; add milk and melted shortening. Pour into flour mixture and stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients. Fold in egg whites which have been beaten until stiff but not dry.
3. Grease a hot waffle iron if necessary and pour batter to one inch from edge. Bake four to five minutes.
