Venison Pot Roast

This Venison Pot Roast is a family favorite. I served it for an informal get together at home for my family and my mother was so proud of me. Little did she know that the credit went to this wonderful Venison Pot Roast recipe.
Ingredients
  Venison 4 Pound
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Flour 3 Tablespoon
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Carrots 1 Can (10 oz)
  Onions 9 Small
  Potatoes 5 Medium
Directions

Season meat with salt and pepper; dredge in flour.
Brown meat in shortening; drain.
Add enough water to cover meat.
Simmer about 2 hours or until tender.
Add vegetables and cook until done.
Fresh carrots may be used.
As many onions and potatoes as desired, may be added.
