Boiled Parsnips

Peel parsnips and cut into slices.
Boil about 1/2 cup water for 1 lb. parsnips, add 1/2 tsp. salt to water, add parsnips and cover tightly.
Simmer 30-40 minutes until tender.
Drain and serve seasoned with salt, pepper, and butter.
