  Eggplant 3⁄4 Pound, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  Potatoes 3⁄4 Pound, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  Zucchini 3⁄4 Pound, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  Frozen okra 1⁄2 Pound, thawed
  Green pepper 1 , sliced
  Onions 1⁄2 Pound, slivered
  Ground beef/Lamb 3⁄4 Pound
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Black pepper 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Hot red pepper 1 Pinch
  Lemon juice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Tomatoes 1 Pound, peeled and sliced

In a large lightly oiled baking serving dish, layer the vegetables in this order: eggplant, potatoes, zucchini, okra, green pepper, onions.
Sprinkle the meat over the top.
Add the salt, black pepper, allspice and red pepper.
Sprinkle with the lemon juice.
Cover with the sliced tomatoes.
Bake at 400 degrees for about one hour.
Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake thirty minutes more, or until all the vegetables are tender.
If the top is dry or burning, cover the casserole with aluminum foil.
Serve hot with rice pilaf or cheese beurek.
