Candied Sweet Potatoes
|Sweet potatoes||6 Medium|
|Butter||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), melted|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Wash and cook the potatoes until tender.
Drain, peel, cut in halves lengthwise and arrange in a shallow greased pan.
Cover with the melted fat and a syrup made by cooking the brown sugar and water together for 5 min.
Sprinkle with salt and bake in a slow oven of 350°F. for 1 hr. basting frequently.
The potatoes should be transparent when done.
