Spicy Red Cabbage with Apples Onions and Raisins
|Unsalted butter||2 Tablespoon|
|Onions||2 , finely sliced|
|Red cabbage head||1 Medium, trimmed of its outer leaves and finely shredded|
|Apples||3 , cored and chopped|
|Raisins||2 Ounce (1/3 Cup)|
|Wine vinegar||2 Tablespoon|
|Ground allspice||1 Teaspoon|
Heat the oil in a large saucepan or flameproof casserole and melt the butter in it.
Add the onions and cook for 2-3 minutes, then add the cabbage, apples, raisins, vinegar, allspice and seasoning.
Cook over a gentle heat for about 30 minutes, stirring from time to time so that it cooks evenly.
