Sweet Potato Pone

Ingredients
  Sweet potatoes 1 Pound
  Hot milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Boiling water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 4 Tablespoon
Directions

1. Start oven, set at Moderate, 350° F. Rub a shallow baking pan or dish with fat.
2. Wash, pare and grate sweet potatoes. Mix with hot milk and water. Add melted butter or margarine, salt, pepper, allspice and sugar. Beat 2 minutes.
3. Turn into the baking dish or pan, spread about 1-inch thick. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the top is browned.
