Toovar Lilva Brinjal Upma
|Extra coarse semolina||2 Cup (32 tbs) (in a pan add 2cup of semolina and fry with 2tsp of oil till it becomes pink colour and keep aside)|
|Toor lilva||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brinjal||4 , chop and put inside water|
|Onion||2 Medium, finely chopped|
|Tomato||1 Large, finely chopped|
|Lemon juice||1 Teaspoon|
|Water||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Oil||4 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Mustard seeds||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Jeera seeds||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Urad dal||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Chana dal||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Onion||1 , finely chopped (For Seasoning)|
|Green chillies||4 , slit in the middle (For Seasoning)|
|Garlic paste||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Ginger paste||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Tomato||1 , finely chopped (For Seasoning)|
|Haldi||1 Teaspoon (For Seasoning)|
|Coriander||1 Tablespoon (For Garnish)|
In a kadai put oil,when it is hot
Add mustard seeds,allow to splutter.
Then add jeers seeds,urad dal,channa dal,curry leaves,onion,greenchillies.
Fry onion till it turns light pink.
Then add ginger and garlic paste and fry for 3mins.
Now add brinjal and fry till they become soft and mashy.
Add toovar lilva,tomato and fry till tomato becomes mashy.
Now add 5cups of water,haldi,salt and allow bubbles to come.
when bubbles starts to come taste it.
Then add lemon juice and keep gas in a sim.
Slowly add roasted semoline in one hand and in anothe hand keep on stiring.
Lumps shouldn't come while stiring.
Keep in a sim for 5mins till it is fully cooked.
when it is ready garnish with coriander.
Eat when it is hot with curd or pickel.
