Snake Gourd Caldeen

Ingredients
For 4
  Snake gourd 115 Gram (Use Tender Variety)
  Salt To Taste
  Coconut 1⁄2
  Coriander 5 Gram
  Cumin 1 Pinch
  Turmeric 1 Pinch
  Ginger piece 1 Inch
  Green chili 1
  Cinnamon piece 1 Inch
  Oil 150 Milliliter
  Onion 15 Gram
Directions

1. Wash and cut snake gourd into 5 cm. by 2.5 cm. (2" x 1") pieces. Parboil with a little salt and water.
2. Grind to a fine paste, coconut, coriander, cumin, turmeric, ginger, green chilli and cinnamon.
3. Heat oil. Add sliced onion. Saute. Add ground ingredients and fry for a few minutes more.
4. Add snake gourd pieces, a cup of water and more salt if desired. Cook till gravy is thick and gourd is tender.
