Candied Sweet Potatoes With Apples

Ingredients
  Canned sweet potatoes/1 1/2 pounds fresh sweet potatoes, prepared 18 Ounce, drained and cut up (1 Can)
  Red cooking apple 1 Large
  Packed brown sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Water 1 Tablespoon
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Ground cinnamon 1 Dash
  Chopped pecans/Walnuts 2 Tablespoon, toasted
Directions

Place sweet potatoes in a 2-quart square baking dish.
Core unpeeled apple and cut into 12 wedges.
In a small saucepan combine apple wedges, brown sugar, water, butter, and cinnamon; bring to boiling over medium heat.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer about 5 minutes or just until apples are tender.
Pour the apple mixture over potatoes.
