Candied Sweet Potatoes With Apples
|Canned sweet potatoes/1 1/2 pounds fresh sweet potatoes, prepared||18 Ounce, drained and cut up (1 Can)|
|Red cooking apple||1 Large|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Dash|
|Chopped pecans/Walnuts||2 Tablespoon, toasted|
Place sweet potatoes in a 2-quart square baking dish.
Core unpeeled apple and cut into 12 wedges.
In a small saucepan combine apple wedges, brown sugar, water, butter, and cinnamon; bring to boiling over medium heat.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer about 5 minutes or just until apples are tender.
Pour the apple mixture over potatoes.
