Candied Sweet Potatoes
These candied sweet potatoes are made with season's sweet potatoes along with grape jam. Spiced with all spice and flavored with orange rinds, the candied sweet potatoes are oven cooked and make a lovely side to any meal.
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Sweet potatoes||6 Medium, cooked, pared|
|Grape jam||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Ground allspice||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Slivered orange rind||1 Tablespoon|
Melt butter in large skillet; add potatoes.
Top with jam; sprinkle with allspice.
Cook, uncovered, over low heat about 20 minutes; baste occasionally.
Turn potatoes once.
Just before serving, garnish with orange rind.
