Claire S Crescent Cookies
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs), melted|
|Walnuts||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), finely chopped|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Sift together flour and sugar.
Add butter and knead until smooth.
Add walnuts and vanilla and knead again until all ingredients are well blended.
Chill about 1 hour.
Roll dough into 1 1/4-inch balls, then into 3 1/2-inch strips, then form into crescents.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet until very lightly brown, about 12 minutes.
While still warm, roll in powdered sugar, or a mixture of cinnamon and granulated sugar, if desired.
