Cut a 1-pound (500 g) turnip in half, a 2-pound (1 kg) turnip in four sections.
Peel each one as for Turnips Nature If you wish to use parsley and butter, place the parsley on a piece of plastic wrap.
Place turnip on top.
Spread the soft butter on the cut side.
Sprinkle with sugar Wrap each piece of turnip separately, making sure it is all covered.
Place on a microwave-safe rack.
Microwave 3 minutes per quarter at HIGH, which would be 3 minutes for one quarter of turnip, 6 minutes for two, and so on, so four quarters would microwave in 12 minutes.
To serve, unwrap, slice or mash.
Salt and pepper to taste.
It may also be reheated about 2 minutes at MEDIUM-HIGH.
