Slice the turnip into thin slices.
Place in a microwave-safe dish with all the ingredients, except the salt and pepper.
Stir well, cover.
Microwave at HIGH 10 to 14 minutes, depending on the size of the turnip.
Stir twice during the cooking period, and check done-ness of the turnip.
Drain the liquid from the cooked turnip into a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave the liquid at HIGH until it is reduced to about 1/4 cup (60 mL).
Pour over the turnip.
Salt and pepper to taste.
