Easy Pickled Turnips

Ingredients
  Small white turnips 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Salt 2 Tablespoon
  White vinegar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Yellow food coloring 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Paprika 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

Peel turnips and cut crosswise in thin slices not more than 1/4 inch thick.
Mix with salt and let stand 1 hour.
Drain and rinse thoroughly with water.
Bring remaining ingredients to boil.
Add turnips and simmer 2 minutes.
Cool.
